Here is an excellent example of how the "authorities" can be completely wrong and yet insist that you take their word for it:
It's long been said by alternative practitioners that every part of the human body is recycled and replaced every seven years. Medical "experts" have long disputed this claim, pointing to the bones at least and to the teeth in particular. The medical thought has long been that teeth grow to maturity and then that's it, at least as regards the enamel. Yet recent discoveries have proven that the opposite is true.
It turns out that tooth enamel is replaced by layering from the outside through compounds in saliva being deposited onto the surface of the teeth! Of course, the replenishment of tooth enamel depends upon the saliva being of the correct composition, a factor that is greatly impacted by diet. This discovery not only points to the ultimate ongoing replenishment and potential immortality of the body, but someday it will have completely revolutionized our ideas about tooth decay, dental care and diet. Yet this vital fact has yet to be considered by medical people whose past training and authoritarianism blind them to the possibilities.

On a sunny Northern California day in September 1986, I achieved the ultimate epiphany: a new and fundamental realization of the true nature of reality. It came at a time when I was least looking for it -- a surprising reward in a lifetime quest.
